Mississippi Ham

This week we are visiting family in MS. I took my  hf rig to attempt a mock emergency station setup. So far it has worked pretty well. I've made a few contacts. The antenna is being fed with speaker wire. I'm using an MFJ antenna tuner. Running 100 watts.

Sick and tired Ham it up

The last few days I've been fighting a cold and stomach flu. Not fun! But I've been using the time to get my ham radio station set up in the basement. I've gotten LOTW setup. Ive also got psk31 going on the ft 100 yaesu. I have an inverted L antenna that seems to be working very well. I think I have close to 15 dx contacts in the past few days days.
So its not  been all bad.

Sick day

This morning I got up with a sore throat. I made me a nice little gargle with Jim beam, honey and salt. That helped a heap. I still have at bit of swelling but it is better.
Nyle went with Warnicks last night to tour the Toyota family factory in Jasper. I guess he enjoyed it. He hasn't said too much about it. Owen was too young so we took him to the  Chinese restaurant and got him some chicken on a stick, his favorite.
The weather is still cold and windy.
